10 scariest and craziest diseases in the world

10. hidradenitis suppurativa
this is an inflammatory condition of the sweat glands under the arms, under breasts, inner thighs, groin and buttocks. The sweat glands get swollen and outbreaks are painful, and might take a long time to heal, as they may persist due to cycles of inflammation and drainage of pus, which leads to further scarring, open wounds and lesions.
if untreated and repeated, the condition leads to formation of sinus tracts and tunnels inside the tissue, connecting abscesses and infected areas. At this stage complete healing becomes a challenge, and the only way to deal with it, is to stop the spread by surgery.
This condition leads to low self esteem, emotional stress, excessive sweating, hormonal change, and depression.

9. adiposis Dolorosa
or anders disease is a rare condition affecting obese people. It consists of multiple painful skin tumours on the body extremities. How this disease works is still unknown, but it is estimated that due to excessive fat tissue on the human body, the nervous system will stop working normally due to constant and increased pressure on nerves.
The diseases is manifested by painful body skin areas and leads to weakness and fatigue, emotional instability, depression, epilepsy, confusion and dementia.
like many other diseases today, there are many drugs treating the symptoms, however the best way to eliminate the cause is to loose weight.

8. madura foot

it is the result of a fungus spreading usually on the legs. as a result of a weak body immune system which cannot fight the infection, this disease is difficult to diagnose in early stages as there is no pain involved.
Once infected, the fungus spreads into the body, causing eruptions and secretions and series irreversible tissue damage, ending up with significant swelling and discharges from the feet.
there is no vaccines or medication to treat this condition, but unfortunately there are still parts of the world where the most basic hygiene behaviours are not present, such wearing shoes or washing to maintain a clean body.

7. Echinococosis
this is the result of a parasitic tapeworm infection, which creates a internal cyst inside the body of the victim and starts to grow and expand until it gets removed surgically, or overcome the host. Unfortunately this parasite infection prefers the brain but can establish itself in other parts of the body.
it is spread through food and water and unfortunately it starts without any symptoms and may last years until becomes a problem.
this disease affects currently one million people around the world and can result in death if not treated immediately, especially the infections affecting critical organs of the body such as brain, heart lungs and liver.

6. leprosy
probably one of the oldest and scariest conditions which is mentioned thought the human history. it is an infection caused by a bacteria called Mycobacterium Leprae and it is contagious. It is believed that the it is spread through saliva or nose fluid through coughs however recent studies have shown that the spread is not that easy.
The result of the leprosy infection are skin lesions, loss of tissue, damages to respiratory tract, eyes and nerves.
Thought the history people believed the limbs will fall off which is not true, however the infected people will loose the ability to feel pain, the limbs and extremities become numb, the tissues are regressing. Due to lack of pain, the damage to the body go unnoticed and lead to other infections and secondary infections and diseases.
Lepsoy has affected humanity since the beginning and the most common way to fight is is quarantine.  Leer colonies have been built where victims have been isolated. they still exist today but the good news is that the condition can be treated by modern medicine with a multi drug therapy

5. Filariasis
is a parasitic disease caused by an infection with a roundworm, spread by flies and mosquitos. one the larvae is inserted into the body develops in the adult worm which remains into one tissue, however once mature it would release its larvae into the blood stream causing the infection spread in other parts of the body
the most spectacular type of this worm is the elephantiases , or the elephant man diseases. the results of this infection are thickening of the skin, and underlaying tissue of the extremities, ears, hands, nose, fingers.
another subcategory of this worm is the river blindness, where a warm is present in the eye and cause blindness at the end.
There are many types of worms affecting many human body parts and once contracted life will never be the same. There are available treatments today with different drugs which are breaking the worms lifecycle, but less effective on the adult worms already present inside the body.
a good body hygiene is recommended as the best prevention method

4. myiasis
is another parasitic infestation of the body, caused by fly larvae maggots that grow under the skin and feeding on the tissue. Usually the fly is interested in open wound, but there are species which would attack and penetrate unbroken healthy skin.
the parasite can choose humans and other mama species, such livestock, sheep and cows.
if the humans can observe the maggots and can treat them immediately, the problem is with sheep or livestock where the infection can go unnoticed.
myiasis can affect the human body in many forms, depending of the location on the body such as skin,. eyes, stomach, intestines. The larvae will thrive mostly in an open wound making them easy to detect and treat.
body hygiene is the best way to prevent.

3.  fecal vomiting
is probable one of the worst human conditions one can imagine and it occurs when bowel gets blocked by a tumour or fecal material after prolonged constipation. The focal matter is a waste product  filled with toxic staff waiting to exist the body and when the door is blocked, is eventually finds it was back to the stomach causing instant vomiting.
This is a rare condition and required immediate hospital emergency as it is life threatening.

2. Noma - cancrum oris
is the result of bacterial infection which attacks young children under 6 years of age, and it is due to poor hygiene. most prevalent in Africa in very poor area, this diseases kills 80 percent of the victims and those 20% survivors are left with terrible disfiguration which leads to speaking disabilities, social isolation and horrible quality of life as one could imagine.
the bacteria can be killed by antibiotics, but most of the time it is either too late or not available for the remote poor areas where this disease still exists and it is estimate that over 100,000 children are affected every year.

1. tree man illness is a very rare condition triggered by the Human papillomavirus and it is characterised by skin warts growths. this infection can take many forms from the smallest largest skin growths going undetected and healed by the natural immune system, to the worst like the tree man illness.
the skin growth or warts are basically cancers, and they become active sometimes due to genetic disorders, allowing the virus to attack the body. There are many variations  and types of the virus and conditions in the world affecting millions of people but most of the time, the natural immune system will solve the issue by itself.
one of the most shocking cases of this conditions is Dede Koswara, an indonesian man called the tree man, due to his tree bark skin appearance. He become worldwide famous in 2007 when a video was published, and his story become widely known. he undertook surgery in 2008 removing 6 kg of warts, but unfortunately the problem did not go away and the warts reappeared. he is not the only one and as they are others sharing this painful disease.
